Continuous ratio variable transmission

     This transmission was invented by Mr. Wardle in 1988.  It is a variable ratio transmission that is rugged enough to be used cars and the largest of trucks.  Yet it is versatile and ideal for use in robotics.

     The inventor was not successful in taking it to market.  Some international automotive companies had spent millions of dollars trying to develop a variable transmission that was rugged enough to stand up to automotive use and failed. Therefore, the dogma is that since they couldn’t do it, then no one can.  That is why Mr. Wardle was not able to get anyone to believe him and support the invention.
